I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving! I am very thankful that the holiday season is here. This fall, we kicked off the Simply Seasonal blog series, and this winter we are back again with a holiday edition.
This series was created with you in mind. Getting your home ready for the season ahead can be challenging (especially when it seems like each holiday year starts earlier and earlier!). I have teamed up with an amazing group of bloggers to help make your holiday season a little easier. We are sharing our best tips for making your house a home during the holiday season ahead so you can enjoy the things that really matter most in a home you love. You will also get a glimpse into our homes during the holidays and a fun look at what we love most about the season!

As you may have already guessed, keeping it simple is the key to a successful holiday season in my house. And in the name of simplicity, my husband and I are also creatures of habit. We get our Christmas tree every year on the weekend following Thanksgiving and start buying & planning for gifts early. These are just some of the things that work in my home to make the season ahead more enjoyable.
When it comes to making my house a home over the holidays, I stick with a neutral color palette. I also like to cozy up my home for the winter season with fur blankets, comfy pillows and easy access to coffee and cocoas. I could stay indoors by the fire all day every day! Couldn’t you?
Here are 5 Easy Ways to Make this Season Great:
- Plan ahead: Shopping, gifts, family visits, and budgets.
- Take time to unplug this season and be present with your family and friends
- Create a drink station for easy access to winter drinks. Think cocoas, teas, chocolates, and coffees.
- Prepare your guest room for family and friends.
- Get plenty of rest. The holidays can be stressful and busy, make sure you take time for you amidst the craziness.

Later in the week, I’ll be sharing a close up look at my Christmas tree style this year (see last year’s here). Be sure to hop on over to Creatively Homespun to hear how she readies her home for the holidays. I’ve added a link to everyone else participating {and the day they post} so you can be sure to check out all the amazing blogs in this series.
