Easy Baby Shower Gift: Nursing Cart

How to create the best baby shower gift that mom-to-be will actually use even if you are not a mom, don’t know what to get the mom-to-be, or are tired of the same ole same ole registry list items.

If you’ve been following along on Instagram then you may have seen my recent Target haul. I have two baby showers coming up and I wanted to do something extra special for these moms-to-be. I know its frowned upon to go off the registry for baby showers but this is the thing I wish I had with both babies and the thing I didn’t know I needed! I wrote about the wonder of the postpartum nursing cart and how helpful it was with Fitz and now I’m sharing how you can create one for your favorite mom to be as the ultimate baby shower gift.

I did not discover this treasure until baby number 2 was a few months old and I wished I discovered it sooner. It is soooo helpful! No more going from room to room trying to gather everything I need to nurse/feed baby. Everything is in one spot and the cart can come with me wherever I go. All credit to postpartum queen Karrie Locher for sharing her gifts.

All that to say, I’m builiding the perfect baby shower gift by creating a nursing/postpartum cart with all of the goodies I loved most and you can too! Click the picture below for the full list of clickable links to every item you need to build the ultimate baby shower gift:

Shopping List:

  • Nursing Cart

  • Nipple Balm

  • Storage Trays: I suggest buying 2-3 of each size (mini, small, med, large)

  • Hair ties

  • Pacifiers

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Phone Charger with XL cable (6’ minimum)

  • Cup with Straw (makes it so much easier to juggle baby, nursing and trying to hydrate)

  • Cliff Bar Minis (or a nursing midnight snack)

  • Burp Cloths (10 or more)

  • Starbucks, Doordash and Target Gift Cards

What to do:

  1. Gather all of the shopping list supplies listed above.

  2. Put together your cart according to directions.

  3. Use the storage trays to tetris together sections for each level of the cart. Put the supplies in the appropriate size storage trays.

Here is how I organized mine:

4. Be sure to give her extra storage trays so she can add her own things when the time is right. She will likely want to put him pump, pump supplies, and other personal items on the cart as well.

5. Tie a big bow on the cart and take the best baby shower gift ever to the party. Mom’s gonna love it!
