… and how it is changing the #fridgegoals game.

Every once in awhile, we stumble on something that changes the way we do life — the iPhone, Shipt, Marco Polo AND now, my signature leftover shelf. No more leftovers getting pushed toward the back of the fridge. No more digging. No more old chinese and pizza boxes clogging up your fridge space. No more “I can’t find it.” Can we say hallelujah!? Here’s how to create your own leftover shelf:

  1. Execute the ITS ON organizing algorithm.

  2. During the Take Everything Out (Phase 2) portion of the process identify and create a shelf for leftovers.

  3. I use these glass storage containers for all of our lefties (yes, even pizza is transferred from the box to a clear containers so we can SEE IT. (EAT) IT. ENJOY IT.

  4. Even if the containers are empty, I put them in the fridge in ROYGBIV order so its easy for the family to see where everything goes. Its like plug & play for your fridge.

PRO TIP: On grocery day, scan the leftover shelf and discard any items that are expired or on the way out.

Do you have a leftover shelf? I’d love to hear what approaches you currently use or have decided to try as a result of reading this post. Please share your thoughts in the comments!

See it. (Refrigerate) it. Enjoy it!
