My Simple Skincare Routine

Sharing all the products I’m using in my simple skincare routine to reduce redness, improve skin tone and achieve healthier skin including an unexpected solution to lip care, my best combo of high and low priced skincare goods, and where to purchase all of it.

Per usual, I’m combining a mix of high and low priced products (if you haven’t seen my splurge vs save posts, check those out here) to find the perfect skincare routine. It’s not complex and works for my sensitive and prone to redness skin. I’m not an expert when it comes to skincare but I finally found a regimen that is simple, sustainable, affordable and actually works so I thought I’d share it with all of you. And just to make sure you SEE the results, I’m sharing these untouched photos from the last two weeks of using this simple skincare regimen.

To me, the biggest change is reduced redness, increased glow, fewer breakouts and a more even skintone. I am hopeful for continued reduction in redness although I do have mild rosacea so that is TBD. Overall, I am so pleased with the results in just a few short weeks that I had to share my simple skincare regimen with you. What do you think?

The biggest surprise is honestly how well the 100% lannolin is working to heal my lips. My lips were burned and chapped 80% of the time before using this. My aesthetician suggested trying this rather than the $50 solution and it’s worked so well! I’ve tried everything from Aquaphor to Vaseline to expensive lip cream. This is the only thing that’s worked. I also love that its natural and safe (especially since I’m working on adding more sustainable products to my home this year!) Just look for tubes that are 100% lannolin - I found mine in the baby aisle. You even may have some lurking in your nursing cart if you’re a nursing mama.

Another huge win for me is finding the right moisturizer for my combination skin. I’ve used the Cetaphil for years but the combination of that and the rose hip oil has been magical. The rose hip doesn’t cause breakouts and its been the extra boost I’ve needed to truly get that dewy glow that I’ve been wanting. I put it on at night and my skin feels so soft by morning. If you are looking for some, I really like this affordable oil from the Ordinary. Just make sure that it is 100% rose hip as some is combined with other ingredients and can cause skin purging (yikes!).

Last but not least is my splurge portion of my simple skin regimen and what I think has made the biggest difference: Biologuique Recherche Lotion. I saw almost immediate results when I started using this. It helps balance my skin tone and the moisture throughout my combination skin. For me, its been totally worth the splurge and with the other affordable drug-store priced products allows me to stay in budget. Plus, this bottle will last around 6 months (I’m told).

I’d love to hear whats worked for you or if you’ll try any of these products.
