Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: What I Bought + Learned

This is my first time ever shopping the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. I learned a few things that I hope they will make shopping easier for you too! I’m excited about what I bought. Head to my Instagram account and check out my #NSALE stories for the live version.

What I learned:

  • Nordstrom early access is only for cardholders. If you really want in on the good stuff before it sells out, you really need to have a card.

  • Nordstrom no longer offers the debit card option (think like the Target Red Card). They have a major credit card option and a store card option. As someone who is not a huge proponent of credit cards, I’m pretty bummed the debit card option isn’t a thing anymore.

  • If you order online, don’t do curbside pick up during the sale. At least in Nashville, they were very backed up with orders so instead of my item being reserved, a few of my items sold out after I purchased them. Likely because they weren’t pulled from the floor before someone else doing in-store shopping bought them.

  • Use the wish list feature. This made it so easy for me to make my list, add items and then add them to my cart once my window opened.

  • Take advantage of Nordstrom’s great return policy and buy multiple sizes if you are unsure what will fit. One thing about the sale is that items sell out quickly. So even if you get the deal, you might not be able to exchange it for the right size later.

What I bought:

Black Basic Loafers

These Steve Madden Black loafers are a great replacement for my worn out ones. I’ve had a similar pair of Target Merona flats for over 5 years and it was past time to replace them. I love splipping these on with jeans. I feel dressed up without actually having to dress up. I recommend sizing up if you are in between sizes. I generally wear a 6.5 or 7 and ordered a 7 in these. They fit great!

Leather-Look Leggings

I’ve been eyeing these leather leggings since last year. I finally had the guts (and the sale incentive) to order them. They are super comfy and fit better than expected. I generally wear a 25/26 in pants. These are a size medium. I am 5’ 6” with a 30” inseam for reference. I don’t feel like I had to do a dance to get into them, so I may have been able to size down. BUT I also don’t want to dance into my clothes.

Favorite Pajamas

I’ve had the black version of these long pajamas for over 2 years and they are by far the best pajamas I’ve ever owned. I even bought the Target dupes - they did not live up to these. These pajamas are super soft, the perfect length (my PJs are usually too short!), and I love that these are nursing friendly and come in both a shorts and a pants version. I ordered ALLLL the colors!

Neutral Fall Booties

These booties are going to be a closet staple for me this fall. I am so excited that i was able to get such a good deal on them. Especially after THESE BOOTS sold out before I could purchase them. I love the cowboy toe, the chunky heel and the v-shape detail at the ankel. Can’t wait to wear these at the first sign of sweater-weather. I’m wearing a 7 for reference.

Closet Staple: Bra

As I mentioned in my original post about the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale, I think sales like this are a great time to stock up on basics. I have been wanting to replace my bras, and try this brand for quite awhile. I was glad ot be able to do it at such an affordable price.
