Your Weekly Round-Up: Sale finds, a meal idea, and a kitchen hack you have to try
I hope y’all had a wonderful holiday weekend. We celebrated at home and spent Easter landscaping the front yard and then had a lovely dinner with my parents to celebrate the coming of our Savior! It was a relaxed and cheerful Easter, just what we needed. This week I’m sharing some great sales on organizing products, spring/summer capsule picks, a must-try recipe idea for meal planning this week, and a kitchen hack you have to try.

Organizing Products on Sale
Right now Target has one of my favorite organizing lines, Brightroom, for 30% off. If you’ve been here awhile then you’ve seen me use their organizing trays (now in green!) just about everywhere - nursing cart, art cart, kitchen drawers, desk drawers, and a tool chest just to name a few. They have tons of other great organizing tools as well. My recent favorite - this shelf organizer to double your shelf space.
Spring and Summer Closet Staples
These white shorts are only $15 and fit so well. High rise and not too short or tight around the thighs. Chef’s kiss IMO.
Also loving this trench coat (similar) for rainy days that I pulled from the deep recesses of my closet. It reminds me of this list of things that I am NEVER EVER purging from my closet. A trench is such a classic closet staple whether your closet swings more modern or more traditional. Linking a few of my favorites below.
Meal Planning Idea
I recently had this recipe at a girlfriends house and it is SO GOOD and simple to make. When I asked her where she got the recipe, she replied “Half Baked Harvest.” Hah - the author of the recipe book I JUST BOUGHT. All that to say, I’m super excited to make this recipe this week. It can be found in her Super Simple Cookbook. Also linking her other two cookbooks below (I have the Everyday one and love it!).
A MUST TRY Kitchen Hack
Ever wonder which spices you actually use and need to keep? Yeah, me too! I’m not much of a cook - more of an expert meal planner and delegate-to-my-husband-to-cook kinda gal BUT this strategy for figuring out which spices you need, use and enjoy works really well! Here’s what to do:
Gather all of your spices in one place. Combine duplicates and place extras in a backstock area.
Turn all of your spices around backwards. Yes, backwards.
When you use one, face it forward.
Repeat for 1-3 months time and discard what you don’t use.
Yes, it is slightly more difficult to find your spices at first but I PROMISE you will quickly determine which obscure spices you do use (Cardamon - Taragon - Masala) and which you don’t (Rouille · Sumac · Zahtar · Ambergris · Fennel). I’d love to see your backwards spices, so please tag me in your stories on instagram and let me know how its going.
Phew! Thats all for now. Have a great week!
XO
