My Weekly-ish Recap

This year I’m starting a new blog series recapping the week. My goal is to have a one stop place for all of your weekly favorites, a round up of recent blog posts and a little behind the scenes personal blurb too. This is where I’ll share bits and pieces of what’s going on with my family, a recipe I enjoyed or what I’m reading or listening too. I also thought it’d be helpful to share the questions I’ve answered throughout the week on Instagram so that’ll be here too. And if you have any creative title ideas for this series - I’d love to hear them too!

On the blog

I blogged a LOT this week. Something about the New Year has me eager to write so I’m taking advantage. I shared Valentine’s Day outfit ideas, a free Canva template so you can DIY your own Valentines Day cards. I also shared some non-Valentine’s day ways to style my winter staple jacket - the camel wrap coat. I also shared the Comfy Capsule, an iteration of the winter capsule geared towards athleisure and DIY matching sets. So far its been a hit and y’all have especially loved the $20 crewneck sweatshirt and the Quarter zip black sweatshirt.

I’m working on a paper planner post too. I’ve actually gone paperless but that took me years (and honestly it was not intentional) so I still want to share my favorite paper planners with you. You can find round ups from year's past here.

Behind the scenes

My baby boy turned three this week and its been an emotional week for me. I keep hearing Dr. Becky’s words “two things can be true.” I’m overjoyed and love the stage we are in but I’m also mourning that babyhood really is over for us. We had a very fun Paw Patrol birthday party with a few friends and family to celebrate.

Currently Reading: Without Merit by Colleen Hoover. Admittedly, this one is a little slow. I’m a 5 star fan of her other books but this one reads more YA and I keep falling asleep after a page or two.

Currently Listening: I’m really digging this song So Ready by Goose. Its a great making dinner jam (and by making dinner I mean watching Ty cook).

Currently Eating: I made this HBH Zuppa Tuscana last week and it was delicious. We double the gnocchi and use a full pound of hot Italian sausage. YUM!

SHOP YOUR FAVES

Codes + Good Finds

The code to watch for this week is YBPAF. Everything at Abercrombie is an extra 20% off with this code. I’ve culled all of my favorite Abercrombie items together here to make it easy to shop. If you are on the fence about the magic jeans, nows the time to try them (styles and sizes are going fast!)

I also suggest anytime you are buying jeans to buy several sizes and lengths. Returns are generally free and its a great if you are trying on in the comfort of your own home. For example, in the magic jeans the blue denim runs tighter than the black and khaki denims. I found that the colors have more stretch and so I needed to go down a size.

Q + A

Q: I got these zip bags and my husband is crazy about them! What did you do with your boxes? Save or toss…

A: Toss! Admittedly, this can be really scary. I had already cut the game-names off of the boxes and used packing tape to stick them to the bags for my games so they were pretty much destroyed. Sometimes its helpful to just have someone say, “hey, its okay to get rid of those.” So here’s your permission to toss the boxes.

Thanks for trialing out this new series with me. If there is anything you’d like to see, DM me over on Instagram and I’ll be sure to respond. Have a great week and stay warm!
