How to hang a hook (in 10 easy steps)

Hooks are one of the easiest ways to #organize your #space. A simple hoook gets a jacket off the floor, a bag out of an entryway, or a hat from being crushed. It maximizes vertical space and is super simple to execute. Here is step-by-step on how to hang a robe #hook on the back of your bedroom door:

WATCH HERE

  1. Identify the height you want your hook to hang and mark it. Generally 6” to 8”from the top of the door but it’s totally OK to eyeball 👀 this as it works for you and the length of your robe.

  2. Find the center of your door and mark it. (Measure the width and divide by 2)

  3. Make sure your screws 🧰 are the right depth for your door (you don’t want to screw through your door 😅).

  4. Determine whether or not you have a hollow core door ➡️ feel at the bottom of the door to see if it’s open or knock of the frame to see if it sounds different from the side to the center.

  5. Unscrew the plate from the back of the hook using an Allen wrench 🔧

  6. Place the plate over the mark and double check placement. If two peace ✌🏼 holes are needed, mark the second spot now.

  7. For hollow core doors, Pre-drill holes using a masonry bit for the wall anchor.

  8. Tap the wall anchors in place using a hammer.

  9. Hold the plate over your markings and screw with screws using a drill

  10. Secure the hook using the Allen wrench and enjoy!
