SOS: Teacher Snack Drawer

Welcome back to the SOS! Blog Series. This week, I have the oppotunity to help a teacher with a small space that she uses almost everyday. It may seem like this is just a small organizing project but this is the space she grabs a snack in between classes so that she can keep going, keep teaching, keep nourishing young children’s lives. And THAT is BIG work.

Maybe you have a drawer like this too and it will help you as well. If you have a space you’d like to have considered for a future “SOS” post, email me one picture and a short list of your overall concerns. Measurements are helpful too! Submit your spaces to organizingnashville@gmail.com

Mrs. Faulkner has this drawer in her office desk at school. Here is what I suggested so that she can see what she has and make the most of her space. For her drawer, I suggested that we use expandable drawer dividers to further divide this large drawer into sections. Then I would use smaller clear bins within the three sections of the drawer to corral medications, smaller snack items like bars or other miscellaneous items. Here is what I envision:

  • Make larger spaces more manageable by using drawer dividers and small bins to further divide the space.

  • Remove indiidually wrapped items from packages
