The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale: How to Shop with Intention
Hi friends! There are a few BIG SALES throughout the year: Black Friday, Prime Day and the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. The NSALE preview is going on now so I just wanted to share my thoughts on these types of sales, some tips for shopping with intention, as well as a few of my picks from the sale.
First and most importantly, I want to relieve you of the pressure to buy anything just because its on sale. Just because something is a deal doesn’t mean you need to buy it. This stands true for all things during all sales. I really feel that shopping with intention leads to fewer, better purchases and reduces household clutter.

I guess I share this because thats the mentality I am approaching the NSALE with. There are a few things I have on my wish list, and a few things I’ve bought from Nordstrom in the past that are on sale now. I’ll share both with you at the end of this post, but first here are a few tips for shopping with intention during big sales like this one:
Keep an ongoing list of things you need or want to replace. I like to use my iphone notes app for this. I keep a running list so that if I am out shopping and see something then I have direction over whether its a priority or not. Its also great when someone asks what you want for christmas, birthday, mother’s day, etc.
Basics are great items to replace during a sale. Think bras, basic tshirts, pajamas, and tennis shoes.
Shop with a list.
Set a budget and stick to it. There is no reason to blow the budget just because of a sale.
Don’t buy it unless you love it. If you are feeling pressure to buy anything, pause. Don’t let FOMO get the best of you.
